A timing question

Just checked my timing with my new ACTRON Digital Timing Light. This thing is great. I made the shunt tool with a connector that I cut from the distributor of a 93 Chevy 1500 at the Junk yard. My timing is Text book with 10 degrees at initial and 28 degrees total at 2500 RPM. Now I'm curious as to how far I can go up and not ping. I have had no issues with regular 87 octane gas but usually run 89 or 93. Any one tryed taking it to 14 degrees initial for a total of 32? I pull a lot of skiers and just want more hole shot and a bit more top end. Thanx for your advice.

That is what every boat owner wants. All it takes is more engine, not a timing change. You will not feel any timing change to the better, maybe worse, but not better. Unless the thing was so far off to start with.
You will not feel a couple of degrees, till the engine fails.
