I am just awestruck. You mean that the last 40 years of listening to the MSM and their hatred of America was just wrong? Oh thats right, the Clinton administration is responsible for all those wonderous success's.

It must be from that British right wing cabal. America is bad to the bone. Many liberals, even on this forum, have told me so.

What leaved me stunned is that someone in Europe feels the need to put this type of ad out!

What? have they forgotten who bailed their Chestnuts out of the fire? Have they forgotten who spent untold Billions to not only protect ourselves, but them for the last 60 years?

Sorry to say, I think most of Europe have gone the way of the French, and they can surrender to the next Islamic reporter that comes by.

This internet is a marvellous place for many reasons, but holy mother of god, does is give air-space to the biggest B/S artists god ever put wind in.
Crunch, why don't you get yourself a boat and get yourself out of the house for a moment.
Americans are no different to anyone else in this world. There are good ones and not so good ones, and when you do get outside in to the real world, you will find people will treat you for what you are and not from where you come from.
That is the way it is in the real world, and I bet it is the same with the everyday American too.
If you feel the peoples of this world owe Americans anything, then you'r wrong.
If America had never existed, believe me we would be in an identical situation to the one we are in now.
But.....I gues i should take this video for what it is....a heap of B/S put together by someone who is probably an insignifant little individual having his moment of glory.
Cheers

I didn't hear anybody on the video saying the world owed the US anything. And if you think the world would be the same without the US... you are dead wrong.

Well for one Imperialism would still be running rampant. There probably would have been more "World" wars as a result.................not to mention that the two that we have had would have turned out VERY differently.

KiwiPhil, do I hear a bit of jealousy in your voice?

After all, how many countries has Australia freed? What technological advances have the Aussies introduced? Exactly what significant thing in history can be contributed to Australia?

Don't hate man. That shows immaturity.

I love Australia even though they haven't done much in the war on terror other than not be a France or a Germany. What little you guys have contributed is much appreciated.

I remember that "back in the day" America and Australia were strong allies.

Did something happen to change that?

I wonder what that broadcast will say in 2 years.

Re: A World Without America

Hmmmm......
Where to begin on this one?
Ok, while it is good to have national pride, it is the arrogance & immaturity of statements such as Crunch's & Water's that make otherwise friendly nations & people despise us....
Anyone summarily deemed to be insignificant would react the same......
Need I remind anyone that the justification for the war in/on terrorism in Iraq is based on the premise that if we don't fight them there, then we will have to fight them here?.......
Much the same transpired in WWII.......
Roosevelt was itching to get involved because he knew that if England fell, we were the next objective.......
He knew that Hitler & Germany were a much more serious adversary than Japan could ever be.....
With a few more years to experiment Hitler may well have had nukes, long range bombers or rockets with which to deliver them......
It was very much in our self interest to see him defeated....
With the Japs at their front door, the Aussies still sent their best & largest force to the European theatre....
That speaks volumes to me about their fortitude, & is that not a 'great' contribution.....
By acting when we did, we pulled everyone's 'chestnuts' out of the fire, including our own.......;).......JK

You're Right Phil,...... But only to a Point.......

People, by Human Nature will treat another person as they wish to be treated,......
Except,... In this day,+ age,.... Traveling with a US passport is about the Same as painting a Target on your Head.......
All due to the Hate Groups,+ the MsM telling the World that All it's Problems have been Caused by America........

We Americans Don't think that the rest of the World Owes us Anything...........
But,.........
Alittle Respect for What America Has Done would be Nice........

Re: A World Without America

Phil,

You and I have had a few differing words on this type of topic, but usually civil. I would suggest that your post was a little less so . . . With that said, I think what you have forgotten is that we have the most integrated, homogeneous society on the planet. That is because we welcome all and were founded as a sort of refugee state to begin with. "Escape here for freedom" is basically our heritage. So when we see the oppressed, politically or otherwise we often react. Because again we were founded as a refuge for freedom, we hold it dear and are ever careful when it is threatened.

Also, the sheer numbers in this country and our free economy leads to discoveries and inventions etc. that were referred to in that clip. I think that is probably more about the math, but you must also take into account the combination of all of the great cultures melting here and the great minds that go along with that. Whereas elsewhere, particularly Europe, cultures tend to stay more separate and the creativity fostered by sharing is less obvious. Yes, Australia, Canada and New Zealand are similar, but I refer again to the sheer numbers.

IMHO that clip is a reaction to the fact that we are portrayed often around the globe as a problem as opposed to a solution. Yes, it can be argued that Iraq would be quieter if we had not invaded, but that is not a fair measure of America's promise, and America's mentality, and America's past contributions. It is a measure of our desire to limit the ability of evil men to reign (or rain) evil upon anyone. Yes, especially ourselves, but simple logic says that limiting terror potential on us also limits the potential on others. However, the mentality that would keep us from "invading" is also one that would have kept us from entering World War 2. We almost didn't BTW, the Japanese gave us a little shove . . .

Although it is obvious that each one of those points in the clip would not necessarily have turned out as noted if there was no America, it is pretty offensive for you to claim that the world would be the same. Not only is it offensive, it makes no rational sense. Do you honestly believe that 300 million free Americans have not had an impact on the planet? I think you do owe us something, an apology . . . ;)

Phil just for the sake of argument would you say that the ancient world would have been the same without the Roman Republic/Empire?
