Alright, so ive about had it with this problem im having. I have a 21 ft cuddy with a 1990 merc 3.0. Last season i had issues with the boat stalling out. I would take it out in the bay all day and go fishing, moving from spot to spot with no problem. Then on the way home, about a 20 min ride the boat would start to lose power and eventually stall out. When i try to start it again it would run for a min or 2 rough and then stall again. Eventually it wouldnt start back up at all. The temp and oil pressure are fine the whole time. This happened about the last 3 times of last season. Fast forwarding to now, I did a full tune up before putting it back in the water this season. Oil change, cap and rotor, filters, etc... I also had the mercarb cleaned. Today I went out fishing for the first time of the season, boat ran great all day long. On my way back it ran great too, no loss of power. I get to my canal which is about a 10-15 min ride at 5mph. About half way the motor starts to idle rough and then stalls out. Try to start it again, it starts, runs rough for a min and dies again. Now it wont start at all, so I took the flame arrestor off and let it sit for a few min. It starts again and runs rough just enough to get me to my slip. Im somewhat handy when it comes to mechanics but i cant seem to figure out this issue. Im thinking it is fuel related but its such a strange problem that it only happens at the end of a trip on my way home. Any advice that could lead me to a solution would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Fuel pump mechanical or electric? Sound like its acting up..you run fine for while..then stalls..carb cleaned. Tuned up...fuel pump is my thought

Go to #8 in the stickies at the top of the page and learn how to test your fuel system.
