I am not sure if this is even availiable. can I turn a boat with an L drive to a normal I/O boat. or would it be cheaper just to buy a differant boat?

Gonna have to rebuild the entire engine bay and interior of the boat to accommodate another engine.
Also going to have to redesign and rebuild the transom to accommodate an outdrive.

So lots of fiberglass and custom interior work.

Plus the cost of an engine and outdrive.

Over the years, people have been all set on doing this, have promised to show us the progress and end results, claimed they had the skills to do the work so the cost would be low.

In the end, either we never hear from them again, or they come to their senses and dump the boat and buy a different one.

After they dump the boat, we hear from the new owner, about this really cheap boat they picked up, in really great condition, but the engine doesn't run.

Then the saga starts all over.

Sorry you fell victim to the L-drive and a less than honest seller.

I have to say the seller wasn't too dishonest. he said he ran it once this year and that it needed a starter and he was planning on changing the impeller next year. but he decided to sell it. I have had it running and it does need an impeller that is already on its way to the house. when I had it running it took off great and ran good just need to fine toon the engine and adda primming bulb. I just finished rewiring the entire trailer ( my choice ) Other than that it is in great shape.

What motor is it? I have a 120 L Drive 1992 model and it doesn't have a primer bulb. It has one way valves in the FP to keep the pressure there when the motor is not running.

I have the 90hp Force L drive. and I have pulled the fuel pump apart and I didn't see any one way valves. that may be the whole problem.
