Acceptable Pre-Mixed Fairing Compound Substitute?

Is there an acceptable substitute to the pre-mixed fairing compounds? Will glass bubbles work? I will be applying gel-coat over it below the waterline so Q-cells and SM Fairing Compound are out.

If I use glass bubbles how thick or thin can it be (cured)?

Yep, Glass bubbles are the way to go. It's fairing compound so it's not designed for thick applications since it has no structural strength. 1/16" - 1/8" max. The amount of hardener will determine the cure and working time.

Whats the application ? How big is the repair that your trying to Fair out ? .. why do you need a fairing compound ?

Just to let you know.. Fairing compounds are not normally used for underline repairs.

What is the application ?
