Painting time again!

I finally decided on a color scheme for the entire house and today with the help of a new friend, got the guest room nearly done in just a few hours. (Note to self - little miss helper not skilled for cutting in... LOL!)

Tomorrow I have to go in and do some touching up, but that won't take long. Also have to get some paint off the edges of the carpet, put the hardware covers back in place and finally, return the furniture to the room.

Making progress, thanks to the great input from the good folks on this forum!

Okay, so I totally forgot to paint the window casements! Oops! LOL

NOW I've finished ALL the touchups in the guest room and am letting the paint dry. Will go in later and reinstall hardware and then cut the door trim molding. Raining here today, so I won't be painting the trim until tomorrow.

It's a good thing the room will be done though.. cuz my daughter WILL be here this weekend after all! Yayy! Her new job still hasn't started yet, due to construction delays. Her boss told her to come on down to see me as already scheduled.

Gonna be a great visit! :D

All done but the door trim now. I was VERY busy today but should be able to get the trim finished tomorrow. Ready for my daughter's visit when she gets here Saturday!

Thanks. I'm getting there. Still learning along the way.

Realistically... this house painting experience is teaching me skills that I hope to be able to use when it's finally time to paint my big boat. Getting all the surface prep done before hand clearly is key, as is a good application technique.

Choice of "helper persons" is also important. No sense in me being careful and fastidious in my prep and application if the helper leaves drips, runs and sags along the way. LOL

Okay, the trim is installed and the room is ready for my daughter's arrival tomorrow. Yahhh... she'll like it a lot better than the last time she was here! :D
