Achieving Right Prop

Is there a caculated formula for figureing out the right prop for a boat? I mean something like: BOAT SIZE AND WEIGHT + ENGINE SIZE AND RPM = (RIGHT PROP)

Best results are achieved when we can test the boat with a known prop and study the data and figure which way to go from there.
