Acid bath for exhaust manifolds?

Will it be safe to give my OMC OSCO exhaust manifolds with the rear risers a muratic acid bath to clear the rust out? The cooling system is raw salt water and the manifolds are only 2yrs. old. The system always gets a 20min. flush after each trip, but I have not used the boat for about a year and the fresh water started to work at the risers and manifolds. Will it be safe to even do this and does it work? Also, which OMC OSCO manifolds and risers are better? The center riser ones or the rear riser ones? Thanks.

Thanks guys. Should I check out installing center riser manifolds? Then have the exhaust come out near the top of the transom, or should I stick with the rear riser ones?

I originallly had the rear log style but those are all but obsolete for a Merc (Chevy 350). Luckily I had the room to go with center risers. They were MUCH cheaper and worked just fine.
