I have a mercathode system and I read in the clymer manual for merc. that there should not be an acorn anode on the posts.It said that it would foul up the way it works.A plastic cover should be on the posts.I have always had an anode on them with minimal galvanic corrosion.Have I been doing the wrong thing????
