Maybe this belongs in the prop forum but I asked before and didn't get a straight answer. I have a '78 Evinrude 9.9 (10824M). Prop is stamped 9 1/2 x 10. Should the actual diameter be 9 1/2 ? When should I consider the prop to be significantly worn?

I think if you buy a new prop for that 9.9 it will be 9X10.You can check props at the top of the page MARINE STORE click on it.How much of your prop is left? whats it measure?

9.5 X 10 and 9x10 were both used, if you have a 9.5x10 then replace it with a 9.5x10

Thanks all for the replies. The prop measures 4.25 inches from the center of the hub to the farthest point out on the blade.

for the 9.9 and 15hp johnnyrudes... you can go anywhere from 9.25 to 10" diameter.... and i have seen pitches as low as 8 and as high as 12... if the prop you had worked well stay with same pitch... and anywhere between 9.25 and 10" diameter you and engine won't notice .75 dia diff. i really liked the solas amita props... for mine. anyhow have a good day
