My first posts in here was about a 70 horse Force outboard. 3 cylinder and the center cylinder was scored in real bad and deep.
My son and I got the block bored, put it together and that old Maxum boat really rolls now.

And so My sons latest boat adventure. I know not one thing about this boat other than the hydraulic pump motor for the tilt/trim failed.
The adapters that they sent with the new pump/motor do not fit.
4AN to 1/8th pipe then another adapter from 1/8th pipe to inverted flare.

This is the fittings on the existing hydraulic hoses.
I could not find a name for this style of fitting. The nut is a common 7/16ths 20 thread pitch.IMG_2612.jpeg

This is on My sons inboard Glastron, I think is the brand, boat with a 4.3 inboard engine.
Used up a lot of hours scouring the internet and could not find any 4AN to 7/16ths 20 pitch adapters.
Okay time to start the machining process.
Went to the ACE hardware store and got these double ended AN fittings, four AN to 8AN.

Tried drilling them on the drill press but the fitting got off center and near punched the bit out the side.
But this is the concept.

I do have a wore out old ten inch Craftsman lathe with a four jaw chuck. It takes a while with the dial indicator to get the fittings perfectly centered but after several attempts finally got it.
Chucked the proper drill bit into the tail stock and measured how deep we needed to drill so as not to disturb the center feed hole.
Then bored two fitting to that depth. The results was perfect and I didnt think to get pics until after it was all assembled.
On a note, My son decided to mill off the outer threads on the 8 end of our adapter.
Anyhow, here is the end results.

The correct fitting is listed as 22-808727
Fitting

Wonder why it didn't come with correct fittings. Maybe wrong serial number used to find pump? Just a guess

Either way great work
