Hello, I recently purchased my first (real) boat. I am now the proud owner of a 1993 Aquatron 1800LXPR 18 foot bowrider. I know not many of you have heard of them, as I'm not sure they were around for as many years as Bayliner etc… I think they may have been affiliated with Glastron.

The one I purchased has the 140 HP Mercruiser 3.0L (sn 6805287) - which I found a little odd since they stopped making those in 1986. However my research shows most of these Aquatrons came with the 140 HP instead of the 3.0L 135 HP. The links below are identical to the boat I purchased.

http://adcache.boattraderonline.com/6/4/1/79324341.htm
http://www.motorcars101.com/1993_aquatron_18.htm

Mine also has a new (most likely rebuilt) outdrive. Alpha1 (sn 0L183852 - Alpha 2.00 Ratio A - 1AL135287 <-not sure what all these numbers are from again…the wife just wrote down numbers).

This now gets me to my inquiry, my speedo doesn't work because the speedo cable connector doesn't fit the outdrive connector. Does anyone know if there an adapter available?

Thanks in advance,
OAB

Re: Adapter

Go to your local hardware store and look in the tubing connector section. You will have to make an adaptor yourself. You could also get a transom mounted pitot tube and connect your speedo there.
