Am considering posting this on the local gas station bulletin board, two blocks away, in the boonies.

"Will trade: Boat 4 Billiards

Possible new used boat owner soon. Zero boating/fishing/trailering skills.

I give you beer, sandwiches, fishing time, and minor pool shooting ?lessons? (hah!) on my 9? table.

In exchange for your boating/trailering general seamanship and local knowledge on my boat, or gas for yours, or at least fishing off my pier, about ? mile downstream from where you are reading this.

Too WEIRD? Don't do it?

Although an interesting read.. I found myself fighting to reach the ending. Have you considered posting "Will pay for a night of booze and billiard in exchange for old salt boating lessons. May span a few lessons, as I'm a slow learner."

Not really calling you slow, but that's the summary that came to mind from what you wanted to post.

My suggestion would be to sign up for a boating course with some organization like Power Squadron.

have you thought about posting on here somewhere and seeing if you can find someone that lives close by who can give you the basics without inviting a bunch of weirdos into your home???


to me putting something like that up a a gas station sounds like a bad idea!!!!...........your inviting trouble!!
