Hi all.

I have another question. I have a starting battery and a deep cycle battery for my 1988 3.0 liter sn# b832128. I wont be able to get to the boat till the weekend to check the alternator specs but I want to order an add-a-battery. Question is can i get away with the mini? It's rated 65 amp versus the regular one which is good for 120 amps. We're talking about 50 bucks difference. What do you think?

Cheers and thanks.

If you upgrade your alternator make sure the charge cable from the alt is large enough for the increased amps, ask me how if know about this one:facepalm:

I would buy the 120A...more margin especially for the switch itself.

Yes get the bigger one. I would feel pretty stupid looking at the burned up hull of my boat thinking I could have spent $50 and avoided this.

I was reading the ratings on the switches. The mini is rated at 300A continuous and the regular is rated at 350A.

You can likely get away with the mini. I would still use the larger one myself for an I/O engine.
