Re: Add water pressure gauge to 1970 115
I used the 30psi kit too. I didn't have to tap the plug hole, but I did end up drilling it out and using an extractor (easy-out) to remove it. Then the brass fitting screws right in. The Teleflex pressure guages come with about 6 different fittings that work on most model engines, hose, tie-wraps, and instructions. If you think it will take more than about 14 feet of hose, buy the hose extension kit too. Basically another length of hose and connector.

If there is no plug, then the instructions say to drill and tap, or connect to a water hose.

Check out my other post tonight about how I almost pulled the gear case thinking the pump was shot. Bottom line is don't expect a pressure guage to register if the motor is on the hose and not in the water.
