Re: Adding a 3rd toon to 25' 150hp motor pontoon
I don't know if there are any companies specializing in this, and I would definitely check with the dealer to see if they have a ready made solution for adding a third pontoon. I recently bought a new third pontoon off the internet that had a motor pod already built in and added it to my 1997 pontoon and while it is a great improvement it was a good deal of work, and it is possible that moving the center pontoon forward or backwards would help it even more, but I am not experimenting with it now that it is all set up. As far as having a built in motor well or not I can see advantages in both. With a built in motor well you have a continuous pontoon, but you have to remove the old motor pod and remount the motor. If you can find a shorter pontoon you have less weight and length to deal with and it may be easier to move the pontoon forward or backwards to see if it can help the way it performs. You can search here to see what others have done and how long or short others think the 3 pontoon should be.
