Adding a 7.5 HP Merc as a kicker motor

I have a 1980 Viking 160 Sport Deck which I have performed some major changes to to make it into a much better fishing boat. It is a center consel whith a 1980 115 T.O.P. I want to add my 7.5 hp tiller merc to her for a kicker motor. I have figured out how to mount the 2nd motor to the boat but I am wondering how best to control throtle and gear shift on the kicker?

I made an easy steer setup. No throttle controls though. When I am trolling I set the speed per GPS and voila!

I already know I will be using the big motor for steering, I just need ideas for throtle and gear shifting as there will be 2 1/2 to 3 foot reach to the controls.

They have a remote control system for throttle, but not sure about gear selector. Just for the throttle control is around 2-300 dollars. Sounds like you need a second control box with a non-tiller steer motor.
