Adding a Front Livewell

I'm in the planning stage of my 1990 Quantum 2000XB floor and deck restoration. I plan to change the boat from a fish n ski boat to ah fishin (haulin'bass) boat.

I plan to move the existing small rear livewell to the redesigned front deck. And adding a new divided livewell in the rear deck.

I?ve seen several sources for livewell accessories but only one, Cabela?s, for the tank itself. Does anyone know of sources for livewell tanks? Or do I have to make my own? Any ideas?

Project pictures and drawing coming soon. I got to finish the bath room project first.

I had a similiar issue, mine cracked. I researched for days, and asked here, no one replied. Ill probably just make one.

yah external livwells in a bass boat takes up space and isnt practical when making a run to the next spot.... but thanks for the info

I have taken what "Woodonglass" has done but to the next level. I have used "Rubbermaid" tubs for my livewell. They make 50 different sizes, there has to be one that will work for you. I enclose the tub in marine plywood covered with matching carpet. Spray foam the voids between the tub and plywood enclosure. seal off the top and cut in a lid to be hinged and plumb for water, drain and overflow. There you have a custom made livewell to fit any size needed and looks good.......

Yah, that was my intent. You can use any of the containers, buy the kits from cabelas and do a "built in" to suit your needs. A lot of the Jon Boat boys have done some pretty creative stuff when it comes to Live Well's. You can learn a lot from "Good Ole Boy's"

Bently, good idea. So you basically have a custom sized plywood live well with a Rubbermaid liner insulated with spray foam using pluming from a live well repair kit. I like it. Now I just need to find the right size/shape (Rubbermaid) liner. Do I have to worry about chemical reactions between the spray foam and the liner?
