Adding a tach to M40C manual start

Unfortunately I don't have a manual yet, and am thinking I should be able to add a tach to this. Correct? Do I also have to add a charging circuit and rectifier? (I am assuming manual start does not have these).
My motor seems to run fine, I'm just wondering what the rpm is at wot.
