Adding a Tachometer

I would like to add a tachometer to mt 1987 Force 85 OB but I'm not sure if it is even doable. If it is, would anyone have a recommendation of wha brand would be good? I have plenty of room on the console, but I would need to know where the wires would hook up to.

That shouldn't be any problem at all. Teleflex, Faria, OMC, Mercury, etc, tachs will all work just fine. The important thing is you need to get one that's compatible with your 20 pole stator.

Teleflex and Faria are the cheapies. I like Faria but I don't know that they're any better than Teleflex.

Paul,
Thank you for your excellent help. Installation of a tachometer is easier than I thought it would be. I've only had my boat only a little over a week now and have been a member of I boats just as long and found that the Iboats forums are the greatest. I've learned so much about my boat within the last week and a half, it is unbeleivable.
