adding a tank

I want to add a 2nd fuel tank to my boat. Main tank(18 gal) is permanent under floor but I want more capacity. I was thinking of in front under the closed bow for weight distribution as well. Any thoughts?

I did what you're proposing in my 16' closed bow. Worked great. I used one of those 12 gallon Moeller "portable" tanks and secured it in place with brackets meant to hold a cooler in place.
