I need some help, as usual....

;I have a 72 85hp outboard Johnson. There are a couple of wire disconnected on the motor and was told they are used for a temp gauge....
My question is what type of temp gauge would work?
Thanks in advance...

I think the wires you speak of are from the temp sensor which operated auto half choke on the motor. There was a service bulletin to disconnect this and wire both wires from choke solenoid to the same terminal.

This gauge comes with a sensor, which mounts by threading into a tapped boss on a cylinder head or surface mounted with a 'Z' bracket and the whole deal is intended for outboards only. Should be < $50.
