Adding a voltage regulator

Can someone tell me if there is a way to add a voltage regulator to my 1989 force 125hp # 1254X9B outboard? I am not sure if this is possible but if it is can someone give me part numbers of items needed so I dont order the wrong thing? Thanks in advance
