Adding HP to 70 hp Force???

Does anyone know if putting a 90 hp carb on a 70 hp force outboard will increase the output? Or am I asking for trouble here?<br /><br />Thanks,<br /><br />Joe

You were asking for trouble when you bought an engine smaller than you wanted, and a FORCE, for crying out loud!<br /><br />If it will fit, it would probably increase the output and your problems. <br /><br />If you really want more power, trade engines. Trust me, Joe, hopping up an engine will eat your lunch.<br /><br />Red sky at night. . . <br />JB

J.B.,<br /><br />Thanks, I know, I should have upgraded to the Merc. <br /><br />I still might give this a shot, it's the same motor just different carb, gearing.<br />I think the power head is the same but I am not sure.<br /><br />If it blows then I'll be looking of a good deal on a 90 ph Merc.<br /><br />-Joe<br />
