I would like to add a kill ( dead man switch ) switch to my 1975 85 hp evinrude ( it currently does not have one ) similar to the one from leebo95's post about his 30 Johnson, I've done this with sleds before, I assume it would be a similar situation. Cut into the ignition wire and mount switch near throttle control? Or is there one made for the throttle control, I do not see any punch outs for one.

Re: Adding kill switch

kill circuit is black wire/yellow tracer, switch is normally open, closed to kill - none that I know of made for the 1975..................

Re: Adding kill switch

Regardless of where you place the kill switch, run a wire from the black/yellow "M" terminal of the ignition switch to one terminal of the kill switch, then from the other terminal of the kill switch to ground.
