I added some LED lights to the inside of my bayliiner so I can see at night when I fish or am out driving around... This was really easy and very cheap to do. I went to SuperBrightLED.com and got all the LEDS needed for about $25 dollors. I ran all the wires and put them on a switch. The LEDS are very low amp draw and look nice.

Wanted to let everyone know about this LEDS. Oh and all of them are waterproof and weather proof. I posted a photo and will add one at night time soon.12.jpg

Looks good. Post some pics of the whole boat, too.

I'll be adding LED lighting to my boat at some point. When I do, I'm going to install a dual lighting system on two switches. There will be white lights, and there will be red. Red for while still under way, to protect and maintain night vision while navigating; and white, to be used once anchored for the night.

Looking forward to seeing some more pics. Nice job.

I installed blue leds in mine (I read on a couple boards that they do not affect night vision (actually suppose to be better than red) and do not attract bugs either. That being said my boat and interior is blue so blue went better with it. If I had a different color I probably would have gone with whatever color matched anyway (lets be honest, how often are you underway with the interior lights on anywy.

Interesting, I would like to see some more installs (for idea purposes) if people wouldn't mind sharing their pics.

Thanks for sharing yours OP!

Edit: found this pic doing a random Google search. This is the kind of thing that first came to mind for me.

All the Lights I put inside are LED as must of you know LEDs dont attrack bugs no matter what color of LED you are using. This is becuse LEDS give off little to no heat and the bug like the heat of hologen blubs.

I like the LED "rope" lights, and added a length around the inside of my cuddy. It offers a lot smoother light than the incandescant, bright, white lights in there and looks pretty cool at night.

Also, as mentioned, they don't attract bugs or consume much power.

I've got two young sons, 2 & 7 years old. My two year old loves to go in and out of the cuddy. All it takes is one glance...

Have you used your blue lights while under way at night? You said that you've read on a couple of boards that they do not affect night vision (actually suppose to be better than red), have you had your own experience with this yet? Any light affects night vision, including red. From my experience, red light impares night vision the least of any of the colors. I love the look of blue lighting, though. I'll do a little experimenting of my own, at home. Thanks for the insight.
