adding livewell

I have a 1985 18' forester and i'd like to add a livewell to it. Am I okay to drill a hole in the transom, probably by the drain plug, for the water intake for the aerator?

Just make sure you seal your thru-hull fitting properly. My personal favorite, 3M 5200 will get it done for you. Good luck...
