My dual lever controls broke on my 1983 25hp chrysler. I was wondering if i could replace the dual levers with the single lever kind? And if i can, can i just slide my old cables into the new controls and not have to adjust anything or will i have to adjust the throttle positions and such from the motor? thanks in advance

WOW! Dual levers on a 1983? You did say '83 and not '63? Man--I thought Chrysler stopped using them when they bought the company from West Bend.

Anyway, in any case the cables should be standard 10-32 threaded Teleflex cables and should just clip into the single lever control box. You may need to adjust the threaded ends a little to account for slight differences in levers in the boxes though.

Depending on how they terminate in the 2 lever box, you may need to buy the proper connectors--little circular hobgobbers that screw onto the cable and plug into the control levers. Should be listed in the catalogs right next to the Teleflex cables.

Thanks for the info Frank! And yes it is a 1983. Was wanting to try and get the single lever cause those dual levers are pretty outdated. Thanks
