Hey, I got a pretty simple question. I have a 16' bowrider that I was thinkin fo adding a extra 6 gal. fuel tank. I currently have a 12 located in the rear of the boat under the splash well. I was thinkin about putting the tank in the front of the boat underneath the front bow seats to add weight in the front of the boat. I was thinkin about this to keep the balance better bow to stern. My big question is will the extra distance between the tank and motor be an issue in terms of fuel pressure. Will my pump be strong enough suck the fuel from 14' away?

14' seems like a lot of fuel hose, maybe just put a 6 gallon jerry can up front and then if you need it just carry it back and dump it in your main tank. A use a 12 gallon main and 2-6 gallon jerry's in the back and just transfer fuel as needed. The jerry's make it easy to go to gas station for more gas. Good Luck!

I got to thinkin about it, and I agree. That is too long to pump the fuel. I ran it all day yesterday and still had two or three gallons left, so I think Ill just keep a 2 gal can on days I know ill be running around all day, to at least get me back to the ramp.

If you plan to do it in the future the distance will have no effect on it.

Ok, ill keep that in mind. I just got to thinking the cost of the line and Id have to buy anonther vent and filler hose. It might be a future project, but ill hold off for now. At least I know its possible if i decide to do it.
