Adding trim/tilt?

I have a 1982 60hp Johnson outboard that came on a boat I just bought, it didn't come with trim/tilt. So My question is if I buy a trim/tilt unit will it just bolt up? and Will I have to take the outboard off or will I be able to install it with the outboard still on the boat?

Doubt you can buy a new factory unit-----Used maybe.-----------Factory unit can be installed without removing motor from boat.-----After market units require removal of motor.

I would be looking for a used one as I know that's all that's out there. I have seen a few on ebay and it looks like there all just the assy,

Or is there other brackets or will that bolt up to the brackets that are on the motor that are used to mount it?

??-----No trim assembly looking like that will fit on a 2 cylinder 60 hp from 82 model year. !!------Look up what you need on the parts manuals or accessories parts pages.

You are looking for the 2 cylinder t&t that mounts outward of the motor brackets

You would be better off buying an aftermarket unit. The cmc PT 130 is a good unit Panther also makes a good one.

The CMC PT 130 is a good one. I have installed a number of them and had good luck.
