adding wire to f/f

I have a hummingbird 550 that has cut wires(power). i.m thinking of putting it on the bow (trolling motor transducers)have to buy one.....but I need to add wire so I can go to my power fuse panel. what kind and what gage of wire should I be looking for?

16 Gauge (10A) or larger will usually be more than adequate to power any Sonar.
A re-purposed extension cord will give the wire some protection if the wire run is above deck and exposed.
