I add STA-BIL and YAMAHA RING FREE to my 2 stroke. Can I add the measured amounts of these additives directly to the 2 stroke oil, instead of
having to measure each one seperately and carry all 3 containers.
I should add I dont have an injector I add oil and additives directely to the gas.

Re: additives

I use the Stabil, Ringfree and Synthetic oil in my premix Yamaha and I do keep them in separate containers and add them as I go because I'm just not sure what kind of concoction it makes if mixed beforehand. Also, I can add some extra Stabil in my last tankful before pulling the boat out for a few weeks. In answer to your question, I just don't know! Good Luck!

Re: additives

You might try reading the labels. For sure, Stabil goes into the fuel. I'm not a ring free user but I would suspect it too goes into the fuel. Oil gets mixed at the engine so adding it to the oil resevoir would essentially alter the fuel/oil ratio. This is definitely different than adding it to the fuel since the fuel burns and therefore the additives become fuel rather than a lubricant.

Re: additives

Don't add additives to oil which will be used in VRO egines - two reasons: As Silvertip alluded to the VRO pumps a certain volume of fluid, with the additives added to your oil some of that volume pumped will be additive and not oil, therefore your engine won't be getting enough oil. The other issue is mixing, oil is significantly more viscous than gasoline, so the additives won't mix with it as well. You'll have pockets of highly concentrated additive in your oil tank, when those hit the pump intake there will be very little oil getting to the engine.

If you pre-mix your own gas then go ahead and just dump oil and additive in a 5 gallon gas can and fill 'er up when you get to the gas station.
