Friend bought a 26 ft'r, cabin cruiser with a 10ft beam, found this trailer that was used under an 8 ft beam {over all length will be fine}... is there enough adjustments to work with here to make it do-able?...

I know...not much to go on, and no clue why he thought I would know{lol}, probably because I visit here and he doesn't ;) sorry about the limited info, friend wasn't very clear and is out of contact at work for the time being{can't offer more info until this evening if needed}...His plan is to only use it twice a season, once to the marina and once back. Appreciate any thoughts!

Re: Adjustability ?

Before checking "adjustability" I would make sure you are in the load range... that boat and trailer are gonna push close to 8000 lbs.

Pulling it will be no problem, just wanting to know if the boat will fit OK on the trailer before he buy's it{trailer}.

What gross weight is the trailer rated for?

Not talking about pulling... thats for your truck/suv.

For example a 14" tire is rated fro something like 1400lbs... so you would be in the 6400lbs range with 4 of those.
then there is the springs/axles..etc. Those axles are prolly the 3500lbs type so you are maxing out at 7000lbs on that.

It seems ( limited research ) the boat alone is 6600lbs.

finding out the max load for that trailer and the boat weight should be your first priority... not adjustability.

Re: Adjustability ?

Thank you, I knew I could count on iboats to steer him/us in the right direction.

So if the capacities are within his needs, the trailer would work with adjustments to the roller carriages, or is there more to it than that?

Wouldn't there be some legal problems with towing a 10 ft wide load. I know there are some places I can't even drive my 8.5 ft motorhome.

Just sayin'

No idea myself...he said he found this one for $1200.00, it's a couple of hours north of us, haven't seen it up close, he's been doing the email thingy with the guy so far. He found another for $2000.00, but said it was junk when he went to see it.

My bet is that the trailer has a lot bigger tires than 14". More than likely 15" or 16"
