BigNev--Photos would help--Have you put the boat in the water and run it?
Common sense - you will need to balance the load. You might have to move some stuff forward or side to side. -Cheers!

Re: adjusting motor

My guess is that you are underpowered. Trim won't really help much.

Re: adjusting motor

that's about a 14' boat... 35 hp sounds decent depending on weight. Definitely play with trim.. You need to adjust trim any time that weight distribution changes.... IE passenger in the front today= trim up a bit.... even water conditions can warrant changing trim.

3 adults and a kid (I'm not even gonna try to figure kgs/lbs lol) in a 14' boat is a pretty full load and 19 mph isn't terrible.... what did the boat do before the modifications?

About 630lb for passengers plus 2 batteries and 2 fuel tanks, +1 on more power :)

Re: adjusting motor

I have a small 16' X 5' Aluminum with either a 9,9 or 30 or both. Never found much difference in speed. Always keep the boat loaded LEVEL & motor shaft VERTICAL.
I look at those 2 angles before I board anyones boat.
I have sat in the house or fished from shore & missed out on the bailing out water fun. :)
