Re: ADJUSTING THE HIEGHT

Outboards will run best placed as high as possible without causing loss of prop bite and waterpump intake issues. This minimizes exhaust back pressure (if your engine has thru hub exhaust) and also decreases drag. The usual procedure is to raise the engine in small increments and water test for results .

Re: ADJUSTING THE HIEGHT

That's not what I meant.I don't know what handling characteristics your boat and motor have now at its present setting. The rule is to get it as high as possible without having prop ventilation(coming up on plane and executing tight turns on plane) or waterpump pressure problems due to it being mounted too high. There is a sweet spot. For me to recommend that you simply raise it without my knowing the specifics of your present setup would be irresponsible on my part.

As a general rule, the anti-cavitation plate needs to be at about the same level as the bottom of the boat.
