I have a 1979 Mercury 40 hp (402 model) and I believe I need to adjust the throttle. When I push the gear lever on the control box into Forward, the prop begins spinning immediately, but I have absolutely no throttle response until the lever has almost reached its maximum rotation. Do I need to make adjustments with the cables, or with the actual arm mechanism that rotates the throttle plate in the carb? If someone can point me in the right direction that would be great. My control box has the 2 levers, one is the Gear lever and the other is the Fast Idle lever. Thanks
