adjustment of motor

i was going to adjust my motor to raise it up so the gravity plate was near the bottom of the boat and i noticed it that the transum bracket is about 1 to 2 inches higher is this same on a 40 hp rude i dont want it to slide down or slide off if you know what i mean thanks for the help

Russ...will the clamp screws still contact the transom? If they do your in good shape and all your need to do is utilize the bolt hole in the transom brackets to bolt the engine to the transom.<br /><br />If the clamps don't make contact, you build up the transom so the clamps will still make contact.
