Roughly one turn out on the top and 1/2 to 3/4 turn on the bottom.<br /><br />Once I find the right settings I loosen the knobs, set the knobs on the middle setting, then snug the knobs back up. That way it's easy to reset them to a position where it once ran well. If you have knobs with numbers, set on the middle number. If they're just levers, straight up or down.<br /><br />I assume it's a 1960 (model 5520 or 5521)?
