Re: Anyone have a prop for sale?
I may be a renegade here, but so be it. A 4 or 5 blade prop can provide you with increased low end torque over a similar 3 blade, but once up and running all those blades get in the way and the result is lowered top end performance. Besides, those props are usually SS which is heavy and costs more money per prop. You hear people say that top end is not a consideration, but I never had a person to admit that it was true......deep down inside, once they tasted the honey of increased speed, they can never get over the euphoria.....sorry we are human. Grin.
My solution is to use a Ported SS prop that supplies the top end you want at the upper end of your engines rpm limit with the load that you normally carry. The ports relieve hole shot pressure from the engine allowing you to come up out of the hole with a big load and move along....supporting that, with tail heavy boats, a quality set of adjustable trim tabs will round out the day.
MY 2C and bet you it's dead .... on.
