Some of you may be on fb and seen the post. Just looking for advice and suggestions on how I should lift my dressed merc 260 with aluminum intake. I used a lift plate on carb mount when i pulled it with it being dressed. But I was very skeptical and that was before the thousands of dollars I put into floor, stringers, and engine. Now I really don't wanna drop it. Thinking of doing a chain to factory rear eyelet and other end to head with single bolt? Any experience or suggestions. Really rather not buy a fancy expensive lifting kit. Im leaning towards useing a chain with rear factory eyelet and a single bolt into the head. Just the po redrilled rear eyelet to work on vortec heads.

I've lifted a SBC with that carb lift off plate with the engine bolted to the TH350 trans. I have a friend that did it with a 455 Buick engine and trans bolted to it. I personally wouldn't give it a second thought.

Ayuh,.... In yer 3rd picture, that bracket attached to the intake bolts, belongs on the top of the t-stat housing,.....

There should be another bracket like it, where it is,....

It has the mount for the wire harness connector. I thought t Stat eyelet was just a horse shoe design?

My Bad,.... the extra holes threw my off,.....

'bout any 3/8" or larger bolt will do, just use a longer bolt for the chain,....
