Ok, here we go with the facts:

I have two motors, J200CXCC that is on my 22ft boat on a custom bracket now.
I have had trouble with it cutting out in the past and believe that it is resolved now.

I have just been given a J225VCXZIF that is in great shape with the exception of the fly wheel is bent.

I would like to replace the 200 with the 225. I do not know what the V in the new model number means but I do understand the rest.

I am ordering the manual for the new motor because the ones that I have do not cover this year and I assume that the new one is fuel injected, it is on a pallet and have not gotten it up on a work stand yet.
I plan to rewire the boat completely right now as I am doing a good deal of remodeling the inside helm and side storage area removing wood and replacing with fiberglass and have filled all the old holes and planed to rearrange the location of the gauges anyway.

I fish offshore and dependability and fuel consumption are my two most major concerns.

Now the questions, any and all comments or suggestions are welcome and appreciated both pros and cons.

1. Are the old gauges usable or should I replace them?
2. Should I sell the 200 whole or keep it to part it out for replacement parts on the new motor?
3. Are there many parts that are interchangeable on the lower half especially the props as I have a few of them already.
4. I would like to replace the main power plug from the boat to match the new motor, the old one had to be cut out as it had corroded and replaced with a terminal strip. Is one available to do this?
5. I need a new cover for the 225, old one was lost.

Ok thanks in advance for all the thoughts and help this should be a great project!

Allen
