I have a 91 200 Horizon, OMC Cobra 5.0, current WOT @ 4,800, top speed @ 45, using an OEM 14.25x19 alum prop. All sounds well & good, but I'd like to bring RPMs down so I can cruise a little faster at lower RPM for a longer time. Planning to do some River boating, and distances can be long. Basically, I hate cruising @ 4,000+ RPM. Was thinking of going to a 4-blade prop at same pitch. Am I nuts (half-witted)? Looking for recommendations. PS- I'm not a power nut, I like to cruise.

You are currently propped correctly.

If you go to 4 blades, you will have to drop to 18p to not lug the motor

Lugging a motor will kill it

If you want to cruise at a lower RPM, get more motor to spin a higher pitch prop
