I bought my boat a few months back. The old 5 slot fuse block had loose contacts and sometimes I had to jiggle it to get the bilge, aerator, or lights to come on. So, I replaced it. The new fuse block I bought didn't have an area designed to connect all the ground wires to like the old one. So, I left the old fuse block just so I could use the three-screw common ground part. I only have one hot wire and one ground wire coming from the battery. The hot wire splits into three and connects to the near side of each of the fuses and each device is switched between the fuse block and the device. The ground from the battery comes to this common ground and all the ground wires for the devices attach to it.

Now, sometimes when I flip on the lights, the bilge runs and the lights are super dim. Sometimes only the lights come on correctly when their switch is flipped.

Do I need to split out the grounds or hot wires or what?

Thanks for you help.
