Advise On 2003 F-150

I am looking at a 2003 f-150, super cab, 4x4, with the 4.8 motor. Does anybody have any info on these trucks: Good or Bad.

Best truck available in the marketplace prior to<br />the 2004 rebuild. V/8 Engines are 4.6L and 5.4L<br />Excellent choice.

lets see when it comes time to change plugs and fuel filter they are a major pain in the butt. I would own one before i ever bought a dodge.But glad I own a chevy

My dad has one. He loves it. Good ride, plenty of power to pull his camper, been a dependable truck. I think he had some work on the transmission or transfer case, but it was warranty work. The dealer treated him good, came to his house gave him a loaner, towed the truck to the shop and brought it back to his house all for free. I am not sure it may have been recall work, but the transmission went bad somehow in the first 20,000 miles.<br /><br />Other than that very good dependable truck. It has pulled his camper from Mexico to Canada, from New York to New Mexico and up into Washington with several trips a year over the Rockies all pullin the camper.<br /><br />The dealership got hit with a bad hailstorm dropping softball size hail on this truck when it was on the lot. Because of the damage he got it less than dirt cheap.
