Currently have one 40lbs foot controled TM in the bow and two 55lbs stern TM's(tiller).

Thinking of going to a 24 volt 80lbs TM in the stern.Selling the 55's.
Do you think I'll lose much speed,if any?
I think I'll gain time on the water,how much,approx.?

Just wondering if I'll be happy with the lost thrust(approx.30lbs.)and the money I might have to invest in a newer TM.

Its hard to say what you would gain but a 24V system is much easier on amps, especially one with a maximizer system. I would put it on the bow tho. It will work a whole lot better.

It appears your electrics are the primary power source so my suggestion would be to get rid of all three and install one 100# (36V) motor on the bow and be done with it. Three motors and related issues are simplified greatly by the single unit and run time will likely increase although it is hard to tell how much.

Sorry about that...yes it's the only source of power.

I've googled for alittle while now and can't seem to find any electric only sites or any information on what people are uing to propel their electric jon boats.
I was if anyone can steer me in the right direction,if it's not aloud,I'm sorry in advance.

MinnKota markets what is called E-Drive. These are expensive little buggers but for electric only propulsion, higher voltage (48V in this case) is better. This unit draws only 40A max. MinnKota also offers Terrova, Maxxum Pro, Maxxum in bow mount and Vantage and Vector in transom mount varieties in 101# thrust (36V) applications. You can view their catalog at Minnkotamotors.com

That E-drive would be ideal. The only problem tho is where to put 4 batteries in a jon boat.
