Aerator plumbing problem

Finally reconnected my aerator hose to the pump after being out of commission for a while and no water is getting to the livewell. The aerator pump gets power and seems to be working, but there is no flow to the livewell. I even looked through the transom intake to make sure the impeller was working and it is spinning. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

Re: Aerator plumbing problem

Is the pump inlet mounted above the water line? If it is it will not pump water. Why? Because these are not "lift" pumps -- they will not draw water. Since you looked through the transom inlet and can see the impeller I suspect the pump is indeed below the water line. Did you perhaps wire it backwards so the motor is running in reverse? Is the spray head adjustable. Some are and can actually be turned off. Is the outlet hose pinched, bent, or clogged at some point.
