Hi, i just pulled out the aerator pump on my boat. its a rude 500 gph and was wondering if i should go back with the rude or another brand? It is difficult to get to and is not made like the ones screwed to the hull. so i would like to get a pump that will last a long time :) thanks for any advice.

P.S. i hope i posted in the right section. i didn't see a section for pumps :)

Re: aerator pump suggestions

pumps are pumps mostly, I have a Rule 1100 and a Mayfair 500 for my bilge and one a recirculator in my livewell and another as a pump out on the livewell, the recirculator has run on the timer, runs 90 seconds every 3 minutes, for weeks on end with no problem so if you can find a Mayfair pump they are really good.

And yes, they are never fun top get at.

This is the rule pump that looks similar to mine. But mine is a 45 degree shaft and i was wondering is the bottom of this motor mounted to the straight shaft with 4 small screws? i took mine off the boat by removing the 4 small screws and leaving the rest of the pump still screwed down in the other piece. It goes through a small aluminum plate and into a black looking piece. I think this piece is what my lever that dumps the livewell is hooked to. there is a hose at the very bottom that is really hard to get to and if i can replace the motor and take that bottom piece off of it and screw it onto the piece i still have with the 4 small screws then this is what i will need. then i will still have my 45 instead of a straight shaft. I hope i have explained this without confusing anyone.
