Re: after market outdrives

Well I have managed to put on about two hours on the SE106 and seems to be good so far. I am also in the process of breaking in a new engine so I have not had the opportunity to open it up yet. I'll be having about 225-235 hp going into it. Checked the plug after 2 hours and just a small amount of fuzz on the magnetic plug. Don't exactly know how I'm going to mount a whale tail on it though because the fin, although much thicker than the mercruiser has an angle on the top and the tail doesn't want to mount well. Other than that, shifting, noise levels, etc. seem ok.

I dunno, I'm just not a big fan of buying stuff like that on e bay. If you need a warranty it just makes it more difficult than if you had a local supplier. Then again you can get screwed by a local dealer just as good as someone on e bay.
