Does anyone know what the correct aftermarket equivalent to Mercruiser's 75420 harmonic balancer? This is for a 1995 Merc 5.7 TBI/EFI. I believe mine is wobbling a little and I would like to replace it, but for whatever reason Mercruiser wants almost $400 for that part... I know that several people have had good luck with aftermarket Dorman balancers, but I am not sure what is the correct part number. If you need me to take pictures and/or measurements please let me know.

Its a GM small block damper. Same as a 1995 pickem-up truck. Just get the right diameter

$35 from napa

It looks like the Dorman 594-012 would work, and it is available locally, but the weight is listed as 7.63lbs where the original one is 8.19lbs. I am not sure why there is a difference, or if it significant enough to cause a problem, but I decided to play it safe and I ordered ACDelco 12551537 which also weighs 8.19lbs and looks identical to the OEM one. Hopefully that's the correct part - I won't know until I get it Thursday.
