Age of alchohol-resistant fuel lines ARFL

First, am I correct in assuming that new motors and boats have alchohol-resistant fuel lines (ARFL) in them?

If so, what year were they included?

Are all ARFL marked as such, or is there a code or something?

Can we assume that a standard black line is not ARFL and therefore should be replaced? Sounds like the experts here believe the ethanol is affecting the hoses as well as seals, etc. (Yes I know there are differing opinions whether there is any effect at all; I do not share that opinion.)

Do we need to go through all the short segments of line in the motor and replace them, too, or is our concern with the long runs?

I just got a used 2004 boat with a Yam made in late 2002. Before I go replacing everything I would want to know what I got and what I need.

I also have an old 1972 Merc I need to get running and I'm in the market for a used motor for another boat, so I guess I need to replace all of its lines. May as well buy a spool of it!

For exterior tank boats, should we replace the hose from the tank to the seperator?

How crucial is it to match existing line diameters? I think I have a variety of sizes as we go from tank to motor from previous repairs.

The 2004 boat w/2002 Yammy will be fine as it is. All of the fuel lines that I have bought since the mid-90's have been alcohol resistant.
The 1972 Merc will probably need updating

The advertised life expectancy of a fuel line is only 5-7 years. Anything older than that should be replaced as a maintenance item.

As far as the black hose, they should be rated to SAE 30R10.

Hose sizing: You can use larger but not smaller. A smaller hose will cause an increased demand on the fuel pump causing premature wear on the pump and possibly a lean condition.
